The National Awards application is an initiative by the World Photography Firm and Sony to support regional photography communities all around the globe.
As part of the internationally renowned Sony Earth Photography Awards, 61 international locations participated this year.
For the 2022 Sony Planet Images Awards, additional than 340,000 images were acquired from 211 countries, and in excess of 170,000 were submitted for the open up competitiveness.
The pictures that were honored at this year’s Countrywide Awards were also picked from the latter.
Sonja Ivancsics was anonymously chosen by a jury for her image of the Milky Way in the Salzkammergut region, which she submitted in the “Landscape” classification of the open opposition.
The Salzkammergut is an incredibly scenic vacation resort spot in Austria, stretching from the city of Salzburg eastwards together the Alpine Foreland and the Northern Limestone Alps to the peaks of the Dachstein Mountains.
Elements of the location, which contains the environment-well known city of Hallstatt, ended up even declared a UNESCO Earth Heritage Web-site in 1997.
The photograph, which was taken on a picturesque evening in June 2021, impressively displays the Milky Way reflected in the bordering mountain landscape–the Dachstein with its glacier–in Lake Gosau.
The formidable amateur photographer from the 13th district (Hietzing) in Vienna found her enthusiasm for photography 10 several years in the past.
For the past 4 decades, she has devoted herself generally to nature images.
“I adore remaining out in mother nature and capturing its attractiveness in all seasons and at all times of the day and night time,” said Ivancsics.
She explained that the attractive shot of the Milky Way in the Salzkammergut area took her a great deal of time and preparing, “I prepared this photograph for about a year, and on this night in June 2021, the problems have been just ideal. The picture is a combine of two pictures, 1 taken at blue hour and just one taken all-around midnight.”
As the Countrywide Award winner for Austria, Sonja Ivancsics will obtain digital images products from Sony and will be featured in the exhibition with the other winners at Somerset House in London from April 13 to May perhaps 2, 2022, as very well as in the Sony Entire world Photography Awards picture e book.
